The Discovery Project
Students will work in small groups to research and to recreate the *experimental instruments used to make significant discoveries about the atomic structure of atoms.
Each group will:
be assigned a specific experimental instrument. plan and acquire the necessary building materials. build a replica of the instrument. research the instrument:
Who used the instrument? What was discovered? When and where was the instrument used? How did the discovery effect our concept of atomic structure?
make a poster or PowerPoint displaying their research information.
present an oral report about their instrument.
